The little Paradise [Het Kleine Paradijs] is located in a unique location, two kilometres away from the picturesque village of Easterein. You can easily use the property’s cycling paths and get around the villages on foot and on a bike.
The monumental Slachtedijk runs through meadows and along waterways, leading you to villages with terraces and by strolling through narrow streets you can learn more about the fascinating Frisian culture and history. (A Slachtedijk is a road that is higher than the land to protect those travelling on it, these used to be protection for those living in the Netherlands as the land is below sea level and is at risk of flooding)
Visit the mystery surrounding mummies in Wieuwert. Terherne is the most adventurous village in the Netherlands, and where the books of Chameleon are brought to life. Franeker has the oldest working planetarium in the world. Workum has a museum with work from the artist Jopie Huisman. Sneek is the water sports capital of Friesland. Harlingen, is a real port connected to the sea. Bolsward with its beautiful town hall and canals and naturally, Leeuwarden, European capital of culture in 2018! In short, a visit to the Frisian Eleven cities is defiantly worthwhile.
